After searching through the Room for Debate issues, I chose one entitled "Apple's Corporate Responsibility for Distracted Driving." The two debaters, Jason Mars and Katherine Ward, argued whether or not apple should be responsible for misuse of their products that result in car accidents.
Mars seemed to believe that Apple should take the fall for any accident caused by abuse of their products, such as texting while driving. Ward, however, insisted that human flaws are the root of the damage in this situation, and I would have to agree.
I think I understand where Mars was trying to get with his argument, but he wasn't exactly successful. He conveyed that Apple is responsible for misuse of their products instead of malfunctions within their products. In the scenario of the car crash, the phone was being misused, not malfunctioning.
I think Apple should be more concerned with privacy and malfunctioning products than people who get in car crashes because they can't wait until they get home to text their friends back.

I agree with your statement clarifying how Apple is accused of their product as misused than how their electronic malfunctions. Moreover, how Apple’s product is harmless to its buyers than used as a beneficial resource. Personally, I understand how electronics, in general, is a distraction that risks a variety of car accidents; not only Apple but Samsung as well. There are even cars with technology that is essentially a phone automatically attached to a car. It’s the driver’s responsibility and choice taking advantage of the electronic wisely, which is why Ward’s opinion is reasonable.
