After analyzing Is Internet Addiction a Health Threat for Teens? The presence of technology exceedingly reaches out to students and children who pose fewer social opportunities. In this issue, the accusation of screen time is opposed by adults, accordingly chooses not to blame themselves for less social interaction. However, because the parents provide less freedom for social interactions, the youth has the tendency to attain a hold on technology.
Danah Boyd interprets the youth’s perspective of their complex interaction accessibility. She expected children using technology to escape social interaction, however, children access technology for social interaction. Parents and education provide strict expectations because students are the product of the industrial revolution.
I understand Boyd’s perspective on this issue, however, internet addiction is a health threat for teens to a specific extent. Not every parent excludes social interactions from their children because there are numerous parents allowing their children to have social interaction. The frequent complication is during the gathering, they interact with their phones than their peers. It’s not entirely the parents’ fault either for accusing technology as an addiction. It is also the children who choose to interact with their social media than communication in person.
