Debater, Elizabeth E John, author of, "Everyone should be able to follow his account", believes that everyone should have the right to see what their President is publishing, because it may be something important, and blocking them would be interfering with press access. She backs up her reason with him constantly tweeting. Even though you can find the latest news online on any news channel, without needing the access to the President's twitter. If it's important information it could honestly be found anywhere.
On the other hand, Danielle Keats writer of " Like everyone else, he should be able to talk to whom he wants", debates that the President should have the authority to block anyone just like any other civilian can, which I totally agree with. We should all have the right to remove anyone that we don't want on our online accounts, President or not. He is too, human like us, and deserves to have his own private life, and have the rights that we have on social media.

Everyone deserves the right to choose who follows them because it is their social media. Just like everyone else, whether we are just a normal person or the POTUS we should be able to control our followers. Plus, if you really wanted to know what he said you can just find it on the news. That is one of the reasons we have the news.
ReplyDeleteIt is true that our President should also be entitled to a private life as he is also protected as a citizen of the US. In the age of invasive media intruding into every celebrity’s nitty gritty, privacy is sought after more dearly than gems. Therefore, Trump does indeed deserve this luxury of claiming something as his own. However, our president should be willing to give it up as he does represent our country and should have every single person listen to him, even if it includes unblocking someone.
ReplyDeleteAlthough it may be odd to think about, I believe that the president has the right to have control over who follows him as well as who sees his posts. It is simply a factor of privacy that is given to anyone who chooses to use social media and it should not change just because he is the president. As some people may worry that he is posting important information it is nothing to worry about. If something the president has posted seems alarming or provides important information it will most likely be found on the news or on posts all around the internet.
ReplyDeleteEveryone should have the right to control who they want on their social media platforms even if that person happens to be the POTUS. This is all simply a matter of privacy and if the account is owned by Donald Trump, then Donald Trump can do what he want with his account, regardless of his occupation. Plus, as you said if what is being put out onto his social media page is important news or information, it can simply be found on almost any news channel or site.
