The president of the United States has a Twitter account that he loves to post on. Many feel that he shouldn't be able to block others from seeing his account. He is are leader and must lead all of his fellow Americans, not blocking them from social media.Bottom line he is our president and should not go out of his way to block someone from seeing what he posts.
Others feel that he has every right to do what he wants with his account. It all goes back to freedom of speech which is allowing people to say what they want when they want. If Trump doesn't want someone to be following him he should be able to address that by taking further action and blocking them from his twitter statements. Just because he is our president why should we take away a right from him that everyone else has? Do you feel our president should be able to block us?
I do feel that Trump or any president is allowed to block people and that he isn't trying to block everybody. There is no reason that he can't block people. He is an american citizen, he has his 1st amendment, and if he doesn't want to be harassed he doesn't have to. Bottom line, he has the same rights as we do and can do as he wants just like us. However, I do feel that he should be careful. I do not think that Trump should block random people for no reason. He should ease on it and if he's really being harassed by someone, then he can block them. Except at the end of the day, he can block anyone he wants, and he doesn't want to block all of us.
ReplyDeleteI'm just gonna be straight forward and say that Trump has his rights and he should be allowed to block anyone he wants using his private twitter account as he pleases. However, the only issue I have with this is the hypocrisy it shows in how he spreads hateful ideas and conspiracy theories through his twitter but then is unable to handle a little flak from a celebrity or a political adversary.
ReplyDeleteIf we were to apply the notion that Trump blocking anyone is silencing their free speech, then anyone who has ever blocked anyone online has violated their freedom of speech. As bad as Trump is online, he reserves the right to block anyone he pleases.
