School Reformation

Schools all over the country vary in performance, quality, and wealth. Wealthier schools have the resources and money to bring in good teachers, better classrooms, and an overall better environment for learning. Unfortunately, the same can not be said about the poorer schools. The less fortunate schools don't have as good teachers since it is harder to pay them or can't attract them there. Classrooms are in terrible conditions and the school environment is quite hostile to an average student in terms of both education and social life.

I believe that there needs to be change in how schools are managed. In this way, all students get an equal opportunity for an education no matter their living conditions. School funding shouldn't be used on unnecessary things but towards improving the classrooms or like helping out the music program if they have one. In doing so, the overall quality of the environment at the school will be drastically improved.

  1. I agree with your opinion. They should focus more on student's academic programs for them to do better and have equal opportunity. I also agree that schools shouldn't spend their fundings towards unneeded objects but instead, they should upgrade the environment that the students are working in.

  2. This is a multifaceted issue that differs from community to community. I believe putting fund allocation under control of school staff, rather than an overarching school district would help to combat the poor state of schools. Teachers know the issues that their school faces. Allowing them to tailor funding to their school's specific issues would ensure that certain communities are not overlooked with general allocations.

  3. I agree with this post because schools teach the leaders of tomorrow. A student's economic status shouldn't matter when it comes to education. We as students should have equal chances to learn and thrive in our school settings. This is a present problem in modern society and it should be stopped

  4. I agree that schools should be managed better especially the money part. Many districts have large sums of money in storage not being used that can be used to support other schools to overall better the community of schools no matter where you live. The sad thing is the city will want to raise taxes that are unnecessary for the districts that just hog the money for their own personal expenses instead of using to fund the schools.
