At this point of time, humans have gotten lazier and AI has become way smarter than we have. Comparatively to humans, the are much quicker at solving problems especially when compared to humans. AI, unlike humans, don't have formulas/directions on how to answer problems, unless they are given some. Most of the time, they will learn from their mistakes by running through multiple scenarios of the problems in order to find the most efficient answer. While it may not be efficient, robots are able to do this far quicker than humans' most efficient way for a result. Look at our world now, in a majority of our homes, we have some kind of smart home appliance such as Echo Dot, Apple Home, or Alexa controlling some aspect of our home. Even if you don't own one of those appliances then your smartphone counts as one as well. Siri, Google, or any of those kind of AI that you are able to talk to and it produces some sort of result similar to that of a human proves that AI is at least on the same level of humans; combined with their speed and their ability to have all the extra applications that come with devices such as, Bluetooth, AI is far superior than humans. In addition, to keep things short, there is an cryptocurrency called Bitcoin. There are not many bitcoin and in order for one to be achieved it must be "mined". For a coin to be mined, it is not done physically but through computers that have powerful parts to solve rigorous problems that would take humans way to long to perform. They are not only hard but they are also lengthy math problems that only computers can do. At this current point, the probability for a computer to mine/answer one of these problems is 1 in 6 trillion

I agree that Artificial Intelligence and computers are smarter and more capable than humans. They can perform complex mathematical operations and search through immense databases in short periods of time. However, they are meant to be smarter. That's why humans began using them in the first place. AIs are developed to mitigate the tedious parts of life while humans can allocate more of their time into innovating. It would be concerning if smart phone AI's like Siri were replacing actual people, but they are extremely limited at this point in time. As long as AI's don't outsmart humans in innovating, society as a whole should be fine.
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree that people have gotten lazier in many forms yet not entirely because AI needs to be programmed to function. Yet people are being illogical when it comes to reality and are damaging their intelligence. If you do come read this, how many years will it take for AI to overtake the human intelligence?
ReplyDeleteI somewhat agree that AI are smarter than humans. Yes, AI beat people in calculations and even playing chess but that doesn't necessarily make them smarter. The human brain is very complex and we still don't know everything about it, but I do know that it gives us the ability to make decisions that no other AI can do. AI currently don't have that sort of ability, but maybe in the future they could get that ability. Even with that, they are still as good as we want them.
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree with you when you say that humans have gotten lazier and AI has gotten smarter, but AI do need to be programmed by humans to achieve this level of intelligence. Overall humans have relied on technology more then their own brain. We would rather use things like AI to such things up instead of thinking about ways to do them.
